Give me a good book, some sand, a tropical drink and an ocean view and I’m pretty much set for an afternoon. That being said, all beaches are not created equal and, given the choice, I’d much rather be on a beach in the Maldives than just about anywhere else. So if you didn’t already have enough reason to plan a beach vacation, I have rounded up the five best beaches around the world to further fuel your wanderlust. These five beaches are definitely on my list of places to visit.

1.Horseshoe Bay, Bermuda

Bermuda is all around beautiful regardless of which spot you head to, but Horseshoe Bay is consistently one of the most popular beaches. Located in the southern part of the main island, the bay is a well-maintained beach with turquoise waters with all the amenities you could hope for. The water can get chilly in the wintertime though so your best bet is going during the warm summer months.

2.Sunset Beach, Hawaii

Can you really go wrong with a Hawaiian beach? Probably not, but Sunset Beach is a must-visit. This surfing hotspot is home to lots of action, but there’s just as much opportunity to relax and take in the natural beauty of the island. If you’re feeling brave, arrange for a surf lesson to get a real taste of the Hawaiian lifestyle.

3.Long Beach, Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

After getting your fill of the restaurants and bars in Tonsai Village, take a day trip to Long Beach on the southwest portion of Koh Phi Phi (one of the most famous islands in Thailand). The beach is pretty secluded, and requires either a walk through the forest or a quick boat ride to enjoy. Stop by one of the few resorts or stores that line the beach for a drink and chair rental. Don’t forget your snorkel gear for some fantastic scenes in the crystal clear water!

4.Nalaguraidhoo Beach, Maldives

Most beaches in the Maldives feel like heaven on earth, and you really can’t go wrong. Nalaguraidhoo Beach is a private beach with every ounce of tranquility and beauty you’d expect from the Maldives. Stay at the Sun Island Resort for a relaxing stay on the water, then make your way up the beach for a fun day of sun and swimming where turquoise water greets you. Like most spots in the Maldives, relaxing is the name of the game. The small peninsula with surrounding sandbar offers a unique experience to relax and enjoy a picturesque location with nearly no one around.

5.Pansy Island, Mozambique

Have you ever seen one of those iconic shots of a deserted island with white sand? It’s likely a shot of Pansy Island in Mozambique. Take advantage of accommodations on nearby Benguerra or Bazaruto where you can live like royalty while still in close proximity to this breathtaking beach. Take a day trip to Pansy Island where you will more than likely not see a single soul in any

direction as you soak up the sun. This is my kind of Paradise.
