Whether you're in your 20s, 40s, 60s or any age in between, there are certain beauty habits you should be doing every day. I totally get it, with working, keeping up with your social life, and personal responsibilities it can be hard to follow all the do's and dont's of beauty—and no one expects you to be perfect! There are parts of your beauty routine that should become a habit. Check out some of my daily tricks and maintenance tasks that you should be doing from time to time creating good beauty habits.

Remove your makeup (all of it!)

This might seem like a no brainer but you would be surprised how many of us hit the pillow with make up still on. I usually do this in 2 steps, first use a make up remover cloth to get all the mascara and make up off and then use a good cream cleanser to cleanse your entire face. You'll be left with balanced, soft, and radiant skin. Just don't forget to follow up with a good night moisturizer

Exfoliate everywhere

Removing dead skin cells from all over the body is so very important because it allows moisturizer to really absorb into the skin. Plus, it increases body circulation and texture of the skin allowing you to get a closer shave! Splurge on a great loofah or a great scrub for your shower and incorporate this into your daily shower routine.

Switch up your shampoo

Think of your hair the way you think about your skin. Depending on the climate and your own body chemistry, your skin can range from dry and rough to oily and smooth. Hair is the same way. Just as you would use different products on your skin during these times, you should do the same for your hair.

  • For hair that is oily at the roots and dry at the ends try a Shampoo and Conditioner that has scalp benefits

  • If your hair is flat and lifeless try a Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner.

  • Dry and damaged? Try a shampoo and conditioner that helps to hydrate your hair

There are great options at the drugstore so no need to spend tons on these options. It is a great idea to keep a few different formulations on hand to address your hair's ever changing needs.

Moisturize + SPF

It's no secret that sun exposure can cause premature aging and even skin cancer so make applying SPF and your skin will love you for it later. Even if your foundation contains SPF, don't rely on just that. To keep the process as hassle-free as possible, I always look for a moisturizer that has SPF built in.

Use a serum

If you don't have a serum in your skin care you're seriously missing out. Serums provide a lightweight, yet extremely concentrated dose of active ingredients that are quick to absorb into the skin. There are so many options out there find one to suit your skin needs and make sure you incorporate it into your nightly beauty routine.

Clear it out

Makeup doesn't last forever. Chances are a good bit of your makeup collection has seen better days. Know when to toss your makeup and do it regularly! By clearing out all old makeup, you're removing that risk of transferring harmful bacteria to your skin. I usually do this every season, so with Fall starting it is a great time to clear out all the old make up, there is no better excuse to take a trip to Sephora.

These beauty tips seem so simple but making them a habit will give you the beauty results you want. What are some of your beauty habits, please share them below in the comments.
