A few weeks ago my husband and I finally took our Anniversary trip to California. We had such a amazing time there, we stayed for 3 nights in Laguna Beach. So today I want to recap our amazing trip of you, where we stayed and a few of our favourite spots.
We stayed in Laguna Beach, California (aka a little piece of heaven on earth) at a gorgeous hotel called The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel. This is one of those hotels where you encounter ‘instagram heaven’ around every corner! The location is amazing because you’re right on the ocean. That is one of the reasons we picked this resort. There is nothing like waking up to the incredible ocean view and salty air.
If you have ever stayed at a Ritz Carlton hotel you might know they offer a club level and I highly recommend upgrading. It offers a private floor where your room is located as well as a club lounge where breakfast, lunch, light snacks are served daily. You have a concierge that can arrange anything you want to do so you don't miss out on any great activities. It was definitely a highlight of our stay.
Since it was our anniversary we really came to relax and spend quality time together. We enjoyed the long walks on the beach path and the beach, some relaxing pool time and of course some spa time. Our favourite restaurant was RAYA. The views are spectacular and the food was to die for. I definitely recommend the lobster tacos.
We have never visited Laguna beach before, and let me tell you it is a dream location to live. I loved all the hillside homes and the town go Laguna was so charming and filled with great shops and cafes as well as some great art galleries.
Here are a few things we did while exploring the town of Laguna:
Thousand Step beach--and yes there are a 1000 steps but the beach is spectacular
Laguna Beach and town
Montage Beach--so incredibly beautiful would not even believe this is not a tropical island
Top of the World Laguna--incredible view and hikes, and you get to drive through some great areas with some amazing homes on the cliffside.
Fashion Island Shopping centre- this is actually in Newport Beach but a definite must do.
It was my first time there and it will not be my last time. We might just have to make this a yearly trip.
