I am absolutely, positively, obsessed with the Okanagan. It’s a gorgeous combination of lake and wine country, is accessible by a 4-6 hour drive from Vancouver, depending on where you go.For me it was only about a hour and half away. Since I moved to Kelowna I have spent some time exploring this new regions and I am absolutely in love. By now you have probably already seen some of my posts about Kelowna but recently I had the chance to visit the Southern portion of the Okanagan, the Osoyoos/Oliver area!
We had so much great wine and food, a relaxing stay on the lake and some really spectacular patio time. Read on below, as I’ve compiled a full list of our favourite wineries,
BURROWING OWL | burrowingowlwine.ca
This was our first stop on our self guided South Okanagan wine tour and what a way to begin! Lots of great wines, donations for the owls, and we left with a bottle or 2 , okay 3 of our favourite, the Pinot Gris, which I can never find in the stores.
PLATINUM BENCH | platinumbench.com
The bread. Oh, the bread. The wine tasting at Platinum Bench includes a pairing with fresh, baked in-house breads. We loved their wines, but we were obsessed with their breads. The baguettes are available for purchase and they always sell out, so visit early! We actually did not leave with any wine that day but instead we left with 6 loafs of bread. YIKES!!!
BLACK HILLS | blackhillswinery.com
Our last stop on our wine tour was this great little gem. They have a great little patio that overlooks the winery and a gorgeous pool. One of my favorite parts was the wine tastings are done on the patio at your own private table, very relaxing way to end our wine tour.
The south part of the Okanagan is so pretty and offers pretty much something for everyone, whether you are a boat lover, a wine lover, or just want to relax by the pool or lake, I highly recommend a stop in Osoyoos, BC.
Have you guys ever visited here? What are some of your favorite things to do here?
