HOW TO GET YOUR WORKOUT IN WITHOUT A GYM MEMBERSHIP


I am always concerned about my health, and staying fit. Some of you may feel like you are always paying a monthly fee to a gym that you never go to but have all the intentions to. Take note here this article is for you! Every year gyms make millions of dollars on dormant gym fees because people fail to use them. It really doesn't matter whether you are paying $10 a month or $150 a month, if you are not actively using your gym you are literally throwing money down the drain. Let's put a end to that know and check out some of the ways you can workout without having and paying a gym membership


Walk more.

It is obvious that running outside is a great way to burn calories, increase leg muscles, and save on a gym membership. However, running may not be for everyone, it can be too intense to start or not something you enjoy, so walking may be a good alternative. Vancouver is such a beautiful city and I love walking around getting some exercise and exploring. A great way to start is walking to work, try leaving early for work—use the extra time to get off a stop early on your commute so you can walk the rest of the way. If your office is on a high floor, take the steps instead of the elevator!

You can also add walking to your lunch schedule. Instead of spending lunch in the cafeteria, take a quick walk around your building. These all might seem basic and not too strenuous but you'll be surprised at the amount of calories you can burn simply by adding more walking to your daily routine. I am always surprised how many steps I took when I check on my iPhone everyday.

Search YouTube.

Technology is everywhere and it has made it easier to access services that would normally pay for. It usually costs hundreds of dollars per hour for a personal trainer to guide you through a workout. Now, many personal trainers have YouTube channels, and you can be trained by a professional in the comfort of your own home and for a cost of nothing, the only catch here is that you need to have the motivation to get off the couch and get it done.

Play with kids (or pets!)

Playing with your kids or pets can be a great way to increase your daily activity. Kids and pets have unlimited energy, and can really motivate you to keep going when you don't feel like it. Playing with kids or pets not only gives you a good workout, but and spending time with your loved ones is an added bonus.

Utilize free local workouts.

Check your local community calendars or fitness stores (like Lululemon) for any free or reduced priced classes. Many studios offer free classes to the community. Or if you are a first-time student you may be able to try classes for free.

The money you can save by canceling your gym membership may not seem like a lot at first, but when you add up the amount you could save over time, it can make a significant difference. So go ahead and dance that membership you are not using and start using some of these great free ways to exercise.
