Whether you love shopping, hiking, golfing or just relaxing poolside, Scottsdale has it all. This city in the desert has something for everyone. I recently spent a weekend here and fell in love with everything about this beautiful city. I only visited for 3 days but packed my days with activities to take advantage of as much as I possibly could, This trip in particular was a family trip, so all my activities were family friendly. I have visited Scottsdale many times and each time I try to experience new things and eat at different spots. I have done all the leg work for you and have complied a list of my favorite places to eat, shop, and stay and some of my favorite activities.
PLACES TO STAY:
This trip we decided to stay the Hyatt. Since I was travelling with my family this resort was perfect, the rooms are spacious and I especially loved the extended balcony our room had. It was a great place to have your first morning coffee. One of my favorite parts of this resort is the outdoor courtyard that is visible from the lobby, There is a indoor/outdoor area here where you can sit relax have a drink and just take in the view and atmosphere. When I left Vancouver it was snowing so as soon as we checked in we hit the pool. The pool here is gorgeous and has many areas to lounge, play and just hangout. It is one of the only resorts I have seen that has a sandy beach going right into the pool. My family loved it and it was a great way to unwind after our flight.
PLACES TO EAT:
There is nothing better then a burger and a great milkshake especially during a vacation. This is always on my eats list when I visit, best burger, best service and the milkshakes are to die for.
When you are trying to eat healthy you should never sacrifice taste and this place has that covered. Love the fresh ingredience here and the unique dishes and flavours
Keeping with the healthy lifestyle theme I loved the fresh whole foods at this gem of a restaurant.
You cannot visit Scottsdale without getting some Mexican Food. This modern twist on the authentic staple is a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the food
THINGS TO DO:
There are so many joking options in Scottsdale. The weather is always great so there is no excuse for getting out there, getting some exercise and enjoying the beautiful views of the desert. We hiked in Pinnacle Peak Park and the views were spectacular.
I have not been to the moon for so long, but since we were trying to incorporate some family friendly activities I couldn't think of a better way to spend the afternoon. Seeing the faces on my nieces and nephews faces was priceless.
If you have small kids or teenagers this place has something for everyone from bumper boats, go carts, mini golf and even a sand volleyball court that we had some fun on
You cannot visit Scottsdale without visiting some of the great shops. I am one for a great mall but I love the outdoor malls, it is great to be able to enjoy the outdoors while getting my shopping on. Here are some of my favorite places to shop:
Whew we packed a lot into 3 days, Sunshine and some quality family tome is exactly what I need to get me through the next couple of month of winter in Vancouver.
