CHEF MEETS BC GRAPE-TASTE OF THE OKANAGAN

The Okanagan is known for its lakes and wine country. On of my favorites things to do here is wine tasting. There are so many amazing wineries to visit and explore as well as some great wine events and experiences to enjoy. I have lived here for 2 years and have yet to visit them all.

As you guys probably saw in all my IG stories I shared on June 8, 2019 Wine BC paired up over 50 different wineries and a dozen award winning Chef’s from a number of popular restaurants to o give us one amazing day at the 2019. Chef Meets BC Grape event that took place at See yah Later Rach Winery. In my opinion it is one of the best wine events I have ever been to.

The day was filled with wine tastings from 49 BC wineries, as well as masterclass wine education seminars, chef demonstrations, wine and food pairings, and a variety of food stations prepared by the country’s top chefs.

A Day full of BC wine, great food and great people

We started the day off flying over the Okanagan Valley with Eclipse Helicopters to and from the event. This was my first time in a helicopter and it is something I will never forget. Eclipse Helicopters was so great, they made us feel so safe, they made us laugh and gave us a unforgettable experience. If you are looking at wine touring in style they offer some great wine tours, with a catered lunch on top of the mountain included. I highly recommend!!!

My first helicopter experience, it was AMAZING!!

We were greeted with bubbly upon arrival, a quick stop at the photo booth( cause lets me honest if you did not do a boomerang did it really happen). We were handed a map and brochure of the event, a wine glass and Wines of British Columbia holder and tray and we were off to try and taste as many local wines as possible.

The food prepared by all the amazing chefs was too good I may have gone for seconds and maybe even thirds is some cases. Now lets get to the wine, there were over 50 different wineries representing BC Wine regions and there were so many that I had not even tried and I have tried so many different wines.

BC WINES

I loved everything about this event, the food, all the great BC wine, such a great venue and all the amazing people I met along the way. It was a great way to kick off the summer season and all things wine. I am so excited for the wine tours and wine tastings I am planning on doing throughout the season. I am already looking forward to next years event.
