PRP FACIAL

I am so excited to finally share this post about the PRP facial I recently got at Kelowna Medical Aesthetics. I am sure you guys have seen me talk about it over the last few weeks on IG giving you updates and trying to answer as many questions as I can about it. Today I am doing a full post on it sharing my whole experience, results and if I think it’s worth it.

As you know, I am over 40 years old and I recognize that I am at the point of my life where I need to be strategic about my skincare. That’s right I can’t just slop on some random moisturizer and hope that my fine lines take care of themselves. I need to research beauty care routines, facials, and procedures… and figure out what is right for my skin. That’s why I headed to Kelowna Medical Aesthetics to finally give my skin the care that it’s been begging for.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to go and get a consultation for your skin before deciding on what type of skincare is right for you. I loved the knowledge and expert advice I received from Kelowna Medical Esthetics. We discussed what my concerns were and what I wanted for my skin and ultimately decided on a PRP Facial (Platelet- Rich-Plasma) , also know as “The Vampire Facial”

My skin concerns:

Uneven skin tone

Fine lines

Dull looking skin

Dark under eyes

Sun spots

Dryness

Skin texture

Overall look of aging

WHAT IS A PRP FACIAL:

The PRP Facial in combination with micro needling delivering growth factors that stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and boosts tissue regeneration. Your own blood is used and spun to separate the platelets and you are left with PRP what they call “liquid gold” to be used on your face.

THE BENEFITS OF PRP FACIAL:  Improves fine lines and deeper wrinkles, reduces acne scars, softens stretch marks, evens skin tone, lightens hyperpigmentation and sun spots, reduces appearance of pores, firms and smooth’s skin texture, heals scars, reduces broken capillaries and spider veins and brings back the glow for fresher, younger-looking skin.

PROCEDURE:

-first your blood is drawn and put into a machine where it is spun and the growth factor platelets are separated and that is what is used

-proffessional numbing cream is applied to your face

-the PRP platelet plasma (liquid gold) is put on your face

-the micro needling starts, stage by stage of the face, the PRP is added before, during and after.

( I did not feel barely anything, there were a few areas that were more sensitive for me like my nose and under my eyes, but nothing that was unbearable)

Everything is customized to what is comfortable for you and how deep the micro needling goes.

-after the entire face is done the plasma is applied to finish it off and start the healing process

-your face is very red (kind of like a sunburn for approximately 24-48 hrs.

Right after the PRP Facial

Right after the facial was done:

As you can see my face is very red (totally normal) and feels very tight and firm from the plasma on my face.

Day 1 After the PRP Facial

Day 1 after the PRP Facial (24 hours):

There is still bit or redness on the face. I was able to wash my face and all the plasma off, its feeling very dry (kind of like sandpaper). I continue to apply face serum to hydrate and no make up at this point yet.

Day 2 After the PRP Facial

Day 2 after PRP facial (48hrs)

Barely any redness left just in the most sensitive parts like under my eyes and nose. Skin looks brighter to me but there is a lot of dryness still. Applying lots of moisturizer and staying away from make up still

Day 5 After the PRP Facial

Day 5 after the PRP facial

I notice a huge difference in the brightness of my skin, looks more vibrant and plump. Dryness is still here, it kind of feels like its peeling. Have started wearing a little bit of make up just powder foundation for now

Day 10 after PRP facial

Today is the day I was able to exfoliate and wash away all the dead skin cells. I wish you guys could feel my skin, it feels so soft and looks so fresh, bright and so glowing.

Day 14 after PRP facial

I would say at this point I am seeing the full results of this facial. I have noticed that my skin feels amazing and I feel like my make up glides on my skin so smooth and looks more flawless. As far as the appearance of my skin I feel like my dark under eyes have become brighter along with my skin. I has a natural glow to it and my skin tone has a more even look to it.

I am so happy with the results of this PRP facial. I feel like Kelowna Medical Aesthetics was so helpful in helping me figure out the right treatment for my skin and I felt informed and comfortable at all times. This facial is considered a treatment not a fluffy facial side but I feel like it is something worth investing in, taking care of your skin is so important, it is something that is with us for so long we need to take care of it and sometimes invest in it. Kelowna Medical Aesthetics has so many different treatments to choose from, book your free consultation and they will help you in choosing the right treatment for your skin.

I actually thought this was a painful treatment and also thought it had a lot more downtime, your day 2 photo is not bad I will need to look into this treatment
